Local TV station, Fox 21, interview with Jill Reid, Acting President & Senior Vice President, about our organization to commemorate Parkinson's Awareness Month, April 2021.
The mission of the Colorado Parkinson Foundation and our affiliated Support Groups is to provide caring, mutual support for Parkinson’s patients and their caregivers; exchange information on symptoms, medication, research and treatment of the disease; and raise money for Parkinson’s research and local programs; and train professional caregivers, including doctors and nurses, on the unique needs of Parkinson’s Disease patients.
Colorado Springs boasts one of the country’s most active and dynamic Parkinson’s support groups. Founded in the early 1980’s, the Colorado Springs Parkinson’s Support Group has grown to approximately 500 Parkinsonians plus their caregivers. It also includes health care professionals and pharmaceutical company representatives engaged in mutual caring and support.
